Fortunately, the driver was able to respond quickly enough to steer the vehicle to the side of the road, narrowly avoiding a collision with another car. Another driver stated that his wife was driving down the highway when the vehicle started to “buck” and nearly stalled out in the middle lane. When the driver took the vehicle in for an inspection, the dealer could not identify the issue and recommended a software update. However, the software update was not available, leaving the customer without a clear and safe path forward. For now, many Jeep customers are in the same uncertain position as they wait for the manufacturer to address these issues and provide effective remedies.
