2023 Subaru Outback SW Persistent Power and Steering System Problems

In recent months, a considerable number of customer complaints have been lodged by those who own or lease a 2023 Subaru Outback SW. Although these concerns pertain to many different components of these vehicles, the majority of the complaints focus on recurring power and steering system problems. Reports of engines that appear to jolt or shake when the driver is bringing the vehicle to a stop have emerged, as have complaints about transmissions that struggle to accelerate and steering wheels that suddenly lock up or become unresponsive at critical moments. To date, the manufacturer has issued two separate auto safety recall campaigns, but neither pertains to power or steering issues. Until these concerned Subaru drivers obtain lasting solutions, they remain hesitant to drive their vehicles out of concern for their safety.

According to one driver of a 2023 Subaru Outback SW, they were steering their vehicle down a steep incline. As the driver attempted to accelerate at the bottom of the incline, they noticed that the vehicle did not respond. Instead of accelerating, the power seemed to lag and decelerate. Fortunately, the driver was able to steer the slow-moving vehicle to the side of the road in order to avoid a collision with the vehicle coming down the incline behind them. Other reports of defective steering and power system issues have been reported, despite the manufacturer’s silence on these matters.
