In recent months, reports of powertrain and transmission issues have been reported by those who drive or lease a 2022 Subaru Forester. From automated features that cause the vehicles stall at intersections to concerning acceleration and stalling issues, these safety concerns continue to arise from Subaru customers. So far, the manufacturer has not responded to these reports, leaving customers without the lasting solutions they seek.
The owner of a 2022 Subaru Forester reported that the vehicle is equipped with an automated “Start and Stop” feature that shuts the engine off when it sits too long in traffic or a stop light. This feature may be disabled by pressing a button, but it must be done every time. However, the driver found that the vehicle still stalled when they pressed the button, stalling them at a busy intersection and putting them at risk of collision. Other reports of 2022 Subaru Foresters that accelerate and stall while in motion have also been reported, even though the manufacturer has yet to address these concerning issues.
