2022 Ford F-150 Regular Cab PU/RC Powertrain Malfunction

Those that own or lease a 2022 Ford F-150 Regular Cab PU/RC should know that a number of customer complaints have arisen in recent months. Although these complaints concern multiple safety concerns, the majority of them pertain to persistent powertrain issues. Reports of accelerators that fail to respond when depressed to concerning reports about gears that do not engage or shift as intended continue to crop up from Ford customers. While Ford has issued three safety recalls to date impacting this make and model, many customers are still waiting for permanent solutions to these powertrain struggles.

According to the owner of a 2022 Ford F-150 Regular Cab PU/RC, they were driving at a speed of 50 miles per hour and slowed to a stop at a red light. When the light turned green, the engine failed to power up, even when the driver pushed the accelerator. The gears began to grind and the truck suddenly shifted from eighth gear to first gear, nearly causing a collision. Another driver reported that the gear lever became stuck in park mode and only shifted after thirty minutes too turning the truck on and off. Similar reports of concerning powertrain issues continue to arise, with no clear solutions in place.
