Over the last few months, several reports about brake system issues in the 2021 Toyota Camry have been lodged by concerned Toyota customers. Reports of Auto Emergency Braking Systems (ABS) failing to function as intended and brake pedals that fail to respond when depressed continue to arise. One driver of a 2021 Toyota Camry stated that they were driving their vehicle into a parking space and depressed the braking pedal. However, instead of slowing the vehicle, pressing the brake caused the vehicle to lunge forward instead. The dealer was unable to diagnose or repair the issue. Another Toyota customer reported that the ABS system failed to function as intended, leading to an accident. The driver reported this incident to Toyota but has yet to receive word from the company about this issue.
