2018 Jeep Renegade Powertrain Problems

For people who lease or own a 2018 Jeep Renegade, it’s important to know that a number of consumer complaints have arisen regarding transmission and engine issues. From grinding gears to engines that completely lose power for no apparent reason, consumers are becoming increasingly frustrated by these persistent problems that have yet to be explained or effectively addressed by the manufacturer.

One driver detailed how their 2018 Jeep Renegade has completely shut off on two separate occasions without warning. Both times, the driver was traveling at a speed of 45 miles per hour when it suddenly lost power and shut off. The dealership found that the car had no oil on both occasions, meaning that the vehicle burned through five quarts of oil in a mere 2,000 miles and gave no warning that it was out of oil before shutting down. Other drivers complained of significant issues when changing gears, with the transmission lagging, clanking, or otherwise struggling to shift into a different gear. Numerous other complaints about defective powertrain issues continue to emerge, with the manufacturer still unable to provide answers or solutions.
