In recent months, an array of electrical and mechanical issues have been reported by those who own or lease a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox SUV. From malfunctioning warning lights that illuminate randomly to engines that suddenly lose power, drivers should be aware of the potential hazards of this particular make and model.
One driver complained of sensor lights that kept illuminating for no clear reason. He would dutifully take his vehicle into the shop, and after parts were replaced and the issue appeared to be resolved, the lights would illuminate once more. Other owners have reported a variety of electrical malfunctions, such as radio and display screens that only illuminate intermittently, or doors that could not be unlocked for no apparent reason. Although Chevrolet has issued four recalls for a number of issues affecting the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, none of these recalls specifically addresses electrical or engine issues.
