A wide array of powertrain and engine issues have been reported by people who own or lease a 2018 or 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan SUV or Tiguan LTD SUV. Several consumers have reported that their Tiguan SUVs and Tiguan LTD SUVs hesitate or lag when the accelerator is depressed. Others report that their SUV seems to struggle or “fight” when the vehicle is changing gears, making it sound like the SUV is straining to shift. According to one driver, the car suddenly seemed to have difficulty shifting, and a red light came on while the power shut off. From there, the car refused to exceed a speed of 50 miles per hour. Other drivers have reported similar scenarios, and the dealerships have been unable to formally diagnose the issue.
