2017 Acura RDX Braking Defects

Drivers of the 2017 Acura RDX may find themselves struggling with noisy or defective brakes. Multiple reports of brakes that severely pulsate, grind, lock up, or completely fail to respond have emerged in recent months across the country. In some cases, the failing brakes led to accidents, property damage, and even injuries. So far, the manufacturer has not addressed these incidents, and many consumers are fearful that their 2017 Acura RDX will start or continue to experience significant braking issues.

According to one driver who was traveling on a New Jersey highway, the brakes did not engage when the pedal was depressed—the pedal simply fell to the floor while the vehicle continued to move forward at the same speed. The driver was unable to avoid colliding with the vehicle up ahead, and two injuries were caused as a result of this failing brake pedal. Another driver described many instances of how their 2017 Acura RDX would unexpectedly brake for no reason while the cruise control was engaged. Other drivers shared their experiences with severely pulsating braking systems and loud thumping, grinding, and knocking sounds when the brakes are applied.
