2016 Volkswagen Golf GTI Chronic Engine Problems

If you own or lease a 2016 Volkswagen Golf GTI, you should know that a substantial number of customer complaints about persistent and worrisome engine issues have been reported in recent months. Volkswagen customers have reported significant safety concerns, including engines that are prone to overheating and shutting off completely while in motion. Drivers have struggled with engines that lose power, lag, emit concerning noises, or fail altogether. Although the manufacturer has issued eight separate auto safety recalls impacting this make and model so far, many customers say that their vehicles continue to experience engine issues after obtaining any recommended recall repairs.

According to the owner of a 2016 Volkswagen Golf GTI, their car has experienced so-called “hiccups” while traveling on the freeway at speeds between 55 and 65 miles per hour. The driver reported that the vehicle would experience sudden engine issues, as if the car was struggling to find power. This problem happened on at least two occasions, prompting the driver to fear that the issue would lead to a collision. Unfortunately, the owner was unable to obtain clear answers from the dealership, leaving him with no lasting fixes to these engine woes. Several other Volkswagen customers are voicing similar concerns and calling on the manufacturer to acknowledge and respond to their questions.
