2016 Acura RDX SUV Recurring Engine and Power Issues

Those who own or lease a 2016 Acura RDX SUV should be aware that several customers have reported recurring power system and engine issues that lack clear explanations. Reports of engines that stutter, shake, or lose power completely while in motion have arisen, as have a few reports of engine compartments igniting when the vehicles are turned off and parked safely. So far, the manufacturer has launched two auto safety recall campaigns, both of which concern airbag defects. Without the clear answers and permanent solutions that customers need, many Acura drivers are voicing their concerns about the overall safety of these SUVs.

According one complaint from the owner of a 2016 Acura RDX SUV, they were accelerating their vehicle when it began to stutter, jerk, and then lose all power. The driver shifted into park and back to drive, but the same issue happened. Two separate trips to the dealership for the same issue did not uncover any answers or identify solutions. In one harrowing account, a 2016 Acura RDX SUV was parked at a shopping center and turned off completely. Within three minutes, the engine spontaneously caught fire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. However, the vehicle’s owner has yet to receive any answers as to why this dangerous event occurred.
