In recent months, a slew of customer complaints from those who own or lease a 2022 Volkswagen Taos SUV have arisen. The bulk of these safety concerns center around persistent engine issues, ranging from engines that emit loud knocking noises to engines that stall completely while in motion. Although the manufacturer has issued three separate safety recalls impacting this make and model—one of which concerned an engine issue—many customers are still waiting for lasting solutions to these recurring engine issues.

One owner of the 2022 Volkswagen Taos SUV has reported several instances of what’s best described as loud knocking noises coming from the engine. The owner has taken the vehicle to the dealership on three occasions for this very issue, but no diagnosis has been given. Another driver has stated that the check engine light illuminates on many occasions, even when there is no reason for it to come on. Many other Volkswagen customers have detailed instances where their vehicles stall at an intersection or while in motion, making them fear for their safety. For now, the manufacturer has not addressed these engine concerns directly, leaving many customers in the dark.
