2019 Honda Odyssey Van Engine Woes

Over the past two years, a number of consumer complaints regarding engine issues in the 2019 Honda Odyssey van have been lodged. The manufacturer has already issued seven recalls that affect this make and model, but many drivers are still struggling with persistent engine troubles. Complaints range from loud grinding noises to engines that spontaneously catch fire. As customers wait for clear answers and solutions to these chronic engine issues, many are warning other consumers about their frustrating—and sometimes frightening—experiences.

Several of the complaints made about the 2019 Honda Odyssey van detail strange noises emitting from the engine. One consumer discussed how his engine exhibited a loud knocking noise when in motion; yet, after taking the vehicle to three different dealerships a total of seven times, the issue persists. Another driver said that the van experiences a hard shift between gears, especially when the vehicle is traveling at a speed between 25 and 35 miles per hour. A driver from Texas shared a harrowing experience of driving her 2019 Honda Odyssey van at 10 miles per hour, when she spotted smoke coming out from under the hood of the vehicle. The vehicle then caught fire, which totalled it. Unfortunately, the majority of these consumers are still waiting for a clear and permanent solution to these engine problems.
