The 2018-2019 Nissan Rogue SUV has been generating several customer complaints in recent months, mostly regarding a malfunctioning braking system. It appears that the vehicle will suddenly brake for no apparent reason while traveling at any speed, jeopardizing the safety of the driver, passengers, and others on the road. So far, there has only been one recall issued for this vehicle for a completely separate issue. As consumers continue to voice their concerns about these various braking system failures, they are still waiting for answers and explanations from the manufacturer.
One owner described that his vehicle has experienced the sudden activation of the automatic emergency braking system on five separate occasions. Every time, the vehicle was traveling along a straight section of road with no obstructions up ahead. For no reason, the brakes suddenly activated and rapidly slowed the vehicle with a loud grinding noise. For those who experienced this issue and took their vehicles in for inspection, no clear answers were given. Even after one consumer had their vehicle’s collision sensor replaced, the issue persists. Dozens of similar consumer complaints about this very issue have been lodged in recent months, with no clear solution in sight.
