After many drivers of the 2017 Jeep Renegade reported issues with the fuel pump, resulting in a loss of fuel pressure that sometimes causes the vehicle to stall or lose momentum, Chrysler formally issued a recall in October 2018. However, even though the manufacturer offered to replace the fuel pump free of charge, starting in late April 2019, many consumers are finding it difficult to have this part replaced. Meanwhile, they are still dealing with many issues with their 2017 Jeep Renegades.
One user reports taking the vehicle to receive the replacement fuel pump, but the part was not available. Even after three months, this consumer states that no attempt has been made to obtain the part and successfully repair the vehicle. During this long waiting period, this individual is unable to renew the vehicle registration, so there will be late fees and huge hassles as well. Another owner described a sudden deceleration while driving along a highway at 75 mph, even after the fuel pump had been replaced.
