The 2017-20219 Nissan Titan XD pickups continue to receive complaints from customers expressing concern over recurring powertrain and engine failures. Reports of transmissions that fail to shift properly, engines that suddenly and inexplicably lose power, and other worrisome behaviors have emerged in recent months. While the manufacturer has issued three recalls affecting these vehicles, many customers’ concerns have yet to be addressed. For now, Nissan customers are left waiting for clear answers and permanent solutions.
One owner of a 2017 Nissan Titan XD reported that their vehicle intermittently shifts for no reason at speeds between 0 and 40 miles per hour. After excessive RPMs, the vehicle violently shifts and the power turns off completely. Even after two trips to the dealership, the erratic shifting still remains. Another driver stated that the paddle shifter often downshifts of its own volition while traveling at highway speeds, causing the driver to swerve off the road in response to this alarming event. So far, the dealership has not been able to identify or diagnose the problem. In the meantime, similar reports from concerned customers continue to pour in.
