2017-2019 Kia Niro Hybrid SUV Engine Malfunctions

A number of engine issues have been reported by those who own or lease a 2017-2019 Kia Niro Hybrid SUV. From misfiring check engine alerts to engines that stall suddenly and without reason, Kia customers continue to express concern over their vehicles’ safety on the road. Although the manufacturer has issued three recalls impacting this vehicle, the company has yet to address persistent engine troubles specifically, leaving many customers without lasting solutions.

One driver of the 2017 Kia Niro Hybrid SUV stated that a check hybrid system message appeared while they were driving. After the driver stopped the vehicle and turned off the vehicle, it failed to restart. The SUV was towed to the local Kia dealer, but no clear explanation was provided. Another owner reported that their vehicle suddenly stalled while traveling at 35 miles per hour. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but no diagnosis was given. Other reports of engine issues continue to emerge, prompting Kia customers to voice their concerns over these safety issues.
